2024 NFL Draft: Los Angeles Rams reportedly trying to trade into top 10
Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Rams have not picked in the first round of the draft since 2016 because of a number of trades that have transpired.

But the 2024 NFL Draft changes all of that for the first time in nearly as decade as the team holds the No. 19 overall pick.

The team is attempting to trade up from their current selection into the top 10, according to a report from Dianna Russini of The Athletic. It is not clear who the Rams are trying to secure with the selection, but it is not a quarterback.

There are a lot of questions surrounding whether the Rams will address the offensive or defensive side of the ball with their first pick, though it should be noted that the fact that defensive lineman Aaron Donald is no longer in the fold could have some influence.

If the Rams are to go the defensive route, names like Texas defensive tackle Bryon Murphy and Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner have been thrown around. Offensively, a player like Georgia tight end Brock Bowers could add an instant boost to the passing game.

It will be interesting to see what the Rams ultimately choose to do with the selection -- and it will be nothing short of a surprise.
