Zach LaVine Sounds Off On Bulls’ 5-13 Record

The Chicago Bulls dropped to 5-13 on the season after losing to the Brooklyn Nets on November 26. The Bulls blew a 21-point lead and lost by a final score of 118-109. After the game, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype asked Zach LaVine if he was surprised the Bulls were playing so poorly given all the talent on the roster.

The Bulls have lost four games in a row. LaVine, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic — the three best players on the team — have shared the court for 370 minutes, the 11th-most minutes of any NBA trio. Their net rating is minus-13.9.

LaVine and the Bulls are open to parting ways. The two-time All-Star, who is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, would like to get traded to the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Sacramento Kings or San Antonio Spurs, according to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports.

LaVine is averaging 22.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists on the season while shooting 45.3% from the field, 34.4% from beyond the arc and 86.6% from the free-throw line. The UCLA product is ready to play under a different head coach than Billy Donovan, per Fischer.

The Bulls need to trade LaVine, DeRozan and Vucevic and rebuild. This roster is not good enough to compete at a high level and it’s evident the players don’t enjoy playing for Donovan.

Execs who spoke with NBA Analysis Network believe the Bulls’ front office will reset the roster before the trade deadline in February.
