Conor McGregor recently discussed the profoundly positive impact working for the UFC has had on him over the years.

From humble beginnings in Cage Warriors, McGregor grew into the biggest box office draw in MMA history in the UFC. His feuds and fights with the likes of Nate Diaz, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Dustin Poirier have all been monumental deals in the combat sports world.

Now, after almost three years away from the cage, "The Notorious" is finally gearing up for his return.

'A Major Launchpad' - Conor McGregor On The UFC

During a recent interview with TNT Sports, "The Notorious" discussed the benefits he's enjoyed from working with the UFC. His 2015-2017 hot streak in the promotion saw him become one of the most popular sportsmen in the world.

In the years since, while his antics have rubbed some fans the wrong the way, the Dubliner has remained the most famous figure in the world of MMA.

However, while the UFC did play a key role in catapulting him into superstardom, the 'Notorious' did acknowledge that that comes at a trade-off of perhaps not being paid one's worth with the promotion.

"It was certainly a major launchpad," McGregor said. "To be aligned with the UFC for anyone is a major launch pad, it's one of their negotiating tactics all right, you're with the UFC now, that in itself is prestige. Which is enough to say, you know, you may- you could take a lower value [in terms of pay] than another area may offer you in today's climate. But it's the UFC brand value [that you're associating with], and that holds mega weight.

"Look at how it has worked out for me," McGregor continued, referring to how the UFC brand has contributed to his success. "It has helped me, it has helped catapult me into many arenas where I have succeeded immensely."

McGregor also went on to highlight how achieving two-division champ status allowed him to move into his crossover boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather back in August 2017.

In turn, the success of the fight allowed "The Notorious" to move into all manner of areas, including his Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey success and his recent performance in Road House
